It’s been a busy week last week. I wrote another controversial opinion piece for EN 24 in which some people loved it, others hated it, and I got accused of all sort of amusing things. I think one of my favorites is how risk averse I personally am, because everyone knows I shy away from anything I cannot win.

For starters, let’s go with the PFR surprise. Walter and I had seemed to have an understanding about Wicked Creek. We both agreed RANE needed to be killed, and neither of us had an interest in attacking each other’s SOV as we had fun fighting each other and didn’t want a real war…just content.

Suddenly, Walter started ignoring me on Skype, planted a safe tower in 3Q, and began to shoot at our SBU. They also dropped a Hel and several caps on the field, so I kept poking around playing with their fleet, waiting for RA to get in position to kill the Hel. RA dropped in two carriers, and PFR warped their caps including the super onto the SBU. My Sabre died before I could get close enough, and when the RA cyno went up, the titan pilot had about a ten second delay before bridging, which allowed their caps to warp off a mere second or two before bubble could catch them.

The rest of the day ended up having various brawls in which I whelped a handful of small ships while fighting with PFR. Our newest to DIP FC (Omar) lead Navy Augs against PFR on their tower and had some amusing engagements. After PFR spent a couple of hours grinding the SBU with a kitchen sink fleet, RA dropped some triage carriers and repped it back up. PFR basically quit trying at that point.

Battle Report

The report is slightly skewed as RA and DIP were mostly there fighting separately at different times. PFR had an “emergency” meeting later in which they basically decided to move across Eve and attack a new region in order to further their ideals of freeports that no one will use. They claim they are not planning on giving up Wicked Creek, but moving across Eve, leaving a single corporation to defend, has caused quite a bit of dissent so it will be interesting to see how that plays out.

I am tempted to go after their stations while they leave, just to annoy them. Force PFR to come back and defend or lose a station to either DIP or TEST who more than likely would show up to take it. Now that I know SOV attacks and the like are fair game for each other, maybe it will be time to start building DIP unity with the new corporations coming in…

DIP has successfully completed negotiations with another solid PvP corporation. Sometime early next week we will be gaining a large talented PvP corp. As we also have recruited a small PvP corporation, and have another small but growing PvP corporation joining this week as well, we are definitely in a solid place moving forward. DIP’s numbers will increase well past 300 and are still in talks with additional groups.

I am looking forward to getting these new pilots settled while we plan  and build for June. It should be a blast (literally) once we can start brawling for Space soon…

Diplomatic Immunity. made a name for itself by brawling with Phoebe Freeport Republic for 3Q-VZA. Game of Sov updates mentioned us, EN24 did an article on us, and a small alliance took it’s first bit of SOV. Since then there has been a tremendous amount of drama and changes in Wicked Creek as N0Fux cascaded, TEST arrive and claimed several systems, Gorgon Empire strolls around casually olbiterating fleets and people left and right, and Wicked Creek has turned into an autistic battlezone.

The notable “Overlords”, and I use that term incredibly loosely here, RANE were pretty much absent from anything involving PvP in the region. However with TEST here to back them, RANE has once again regained their courage and began their own assault on several non-key and overall useless systems such as 3Q.

RANE began their incredible assault by bravely going forth to do battle with the lone defensive SBU held by DIP in the system. A handful of bombers, a Maelstrom and a cloaky, yes I said cloaky Macherial started bashing. After several moments of sheer and utter panic we determined the only course of action left to us would be to fight these incredible PvPers and hope that we could indeed of a desirable outcome.

We had a lone Phantasm who decided to occupy them and do what he could to slow down their incredible assault. He ended up soloing a handful of bombers and a Tengu… alone… in a Phantasm. By the end of the evening, RANE had manged to call in a TEST fleet of Caracals, who got bored defending their retarded stepbrother and left them alone. We ended up killing everything RANE brought except the cloaky Macherial. As soon as TEST left RANE was back on the SBU shooting at, somehow managing to think that we would just hide and let them be. Obviously that didn’t happen

Battle Report

I lost a Sentinel hero tackling and fighting the Svipuls waiting for my guys to land on grid with them. I survived long enough for my guys to get hands on and kill them both. It was highly amusing, how incredibly bad RANE attempts are at PvP. How long will TEST keep saving them before finally saying enough guys, stand on your own…

In other news, DIP started attacking Spire, and promptly got told to back off or we would get decimated as Spire “belongs” to someone else. We were also told all the moons we hit aren’t ours and we can’t have them. Ironically by a group who is fighting “against” the exact same thing they are perpetuating sadly. However this is Eve, and I am not yet in the position I need to be to handle the fights it would entail still. However, there are several group son the horizon that if they join DIP will explode into a force that is unexpected very quickly 🙂

Late yesterday evening, an ancient Eve artifact was destroyed through the callous actions of Wormhole groups who have no appreciated for history. A carrier class vessel of the Archon variety was destroyed when foolishly coming to the rescue of another doomed carrier class vessel of the Thanatos variety.

So how did this all begin…

I was hanging out in my Thanatos killing the evil Angel rats who were creating Havens in epic numbers around the system. Being an overconfident PvPer who was expecting a Gorgon Empire hotdrop (that never came). So when a lone Stiletto came in and pointed me, my response was, adorable. I sent a large flight of Warriors onto him and he proceeded to leave. He wasn’t a part of any major group I had heard of, and a quick glance at the killboard didn’t give me any major cause for worry so I continued about my business.

He came back within a couple of minutes, and straight back to me. I still wasn’t worried as I had a slowcat on standby and friends in local. As expected another neutral showed up and it was a Macherial. I was actually pretty excited and called for tackle to come in and return the favor. A small stream of neutrals came in, nothing overly major right away, and we lost tackle but killed one of the Macherials. However they were keeping me pointed.

I still wasn’t worried, until local kept rising. Even then it was manageable and we warped in some slowcat support. We were holding without it be muching of an issue, but sadly hostile Scimitars appeared and also prevented us from killing anything else. That and any tackle we brought it was wiped off field extremely quickly.

We made the decision to stop bringing in subcaps while we attempted to organize a proper fleet. As we were prepping the fleet, local spiked seriously as Hard Knocks, and a random smattering of wormhole groups came flooding in. At this point we were pretty confident we were dead, and did what we could to make an effort to remove ships but were unable to break reps or do much.

The Archon that died on Heartcarver was roughly, six-seven years old I believe. It still had large rigs on it and was built / mined by myself waaaaaaaay back in the day. This was back when you could put industrials in a carrier full of mods. That isk value was not crazy, but that sentimental value… sigh.

What I found surprising about the entire situation, is the general style of Hard Knocks and crew. I haven’t really fought them before, and I know they appear from Wormholes and gank stuff everywhere. Having them in local was almost the same as having TEST in local. There was a constant spew of local sperg and trash talking on us. None of us were mad and I genuinely enjoyed the fight even though I lost two carriers personally.

Mistakes were made of course, mostly by me. We shouldn’t have brought in anything else to save me, but more importantly, when I had the chance to leave I should have. I got a bit overconfident, and wasn’t too worried about getting ganked. Bad things happened, and I died. It was a stupid  mistake to make, but it could have been far worse. It also could have been much better and had no losses.

Either way, thanks for the fight, and at a minimum one Macherial kill was the same price as a carrier!

DIPs Carrier Whelp

In other news… my first EN24 article was published. People who comment there seem even worse than Reddit when it comes to hostility… the joys of Internet anonymity I suppose. It was a fun article to write, and I hope to continue writing articles of a similar nature and style. I appreciate the feedback I have received on both my blog and article.

DIP is still looking for more PvP corporations… we are prepping to sound the drums of war soon 🙂

This was a nice quiet weekend for once. Surprisingly, it was nice having a quiet weekend. No major ops planned, no crazy alarm clocking, just some simple logistics, grinds, and few small fights.

We have been conducting Operation Cleanup around our new space. Aka cleaning out hostile / neutral random crap floating around. We’ve been slaughtering dead towers, reinforcing live ones, and in general cleaning out the area. It’s not the most exciting of things, but it’s a little bit of content. Claimed our fifth system as well. This will serve us as a logistics system in the future.

We did have one small gang show up to shoot at us. It was an adorable attempt. Splitting them up was pretty easy. The Eris warped onto me and bubbled me, 100k away from his friends. That was a pretty quick and easy kill for the VNI. By the time his buddies got out to us, in a nice and orderly spread out fashion, it was a rampant slaughter as our guys undocked too.

Cruiser Kills

Other than that, DIP has been a bit quiet recently. We are still settling in our new home and focusing on setting up our infrastructure, logistics chains and the like. We managed to acquire Gorgon cloaky campers, that took all of three days I think. We are mostly focusing on recruiting and getting those quality corporations into DIP that will fit in with our culture and give us additional firepower. It is coming along slowly, but it is indeed still chugging.

We did get a new corporation into alliance. DIP welcome Sonic Jihad into our growing community. A N3 corp is in the process of dissolving and merging into Sonic as well including a N3 coalition level FC. This will provide a solid boost to EU timezone and FC leadership. I look forward to the rest of their guys getting moved over, and into DIP to get them integrated and running ops with us.

This week we will slowly start picking up our PvP activity again. We have some operations planned for this week, and will start to mess with our neighbors… and say hello. It’s happened a bit, and I was so close to convincing a renter group to rebel against their rental overlords. They offered to pay us rent if we flipped their system for them, which I thought was pretty funny. I encouraged them to rebel anyway, because I don’t think N3 will reconquer the area, but alas some people will just not take the risk.

Finally I wrote an article for EN24 today. It is an article discussing some of the perils and challenges faced by a young growing alliance. I used DIP as an example of course, since writing what you know is typically a good idea. We will see if it gets published or not. If it does maybe I can start writing for EN 24 as well…

Lastly, DIP is still looking for corporations to fit in with our culture not afraid of the challenge. If the groups that I am talking to all join… we will be in an extremely strong position and ready to go for June. Hopefully with N3 falling apart, CFC preparing to abandon some of their areas and consolidate, PvP corps looking for something new and fresh will link up with us…

I’ve actually been asked why I haven’t posted in a while. It’s nice to have a following 🙂

So lots of stuff has happened in the last week. For non DIP starters, N0Fux has cascaded into oblivion. Roweena apparently has quit Eve as the undisputed hero FC of the entire Eve universe. I am sure the entire Eve universe will probably pause and have a moment of silence for such a sorrowful occasion. I hope that his departure from Eve is because of an enrollment into a mental health facility.

Wicked Creek is still a pretty crazy place to be. TEST is continuing their rampage through the space claiming moons and taking SOV. The “FunDip” coalition as I had previously named it is a bit quiet. Corvos tried for some SOV when N0Fux dropped it all which TEST violently contested. TEST seems to be more organized and fleets are out and about regularly stirring up trouble and causing general havoc. DIP has given up on designs for Wicked Creek currently excluding our system that we plan on maintaining. For now we are focusing on alliance growth, building, and fixing our infrastructure.

Oh yea, did I mention DIP has gained SOV in Insmother so we have our own home now, and don’t need to sleep on DRF’s couch. Our activity has been slightly quieter, with some alliance changes going on. We had some turnover in corporations and picked up an additional corp. A N3 corp is dissolving and merging into a new corp in our alliance. We are picking up a coalition level FC as well in this which should provide some solid additions to our E Utz especially. I’m also in discussion with a handful of other corporations so I am looking forward to the future and where DIP will be come the June changes.

It’s been a quiet week, but just did some structure grinding, moving, and prepping. This weekend should be pretty relaxed as people get moved in and prepped before we start running ops next week. It will be a bit more relaxing and calm weekend without timers or anything to mess with. It should be a good time, and DIP is focusing on DIP now, recruiting, growing, and prepping for our June plans 🙂

As always… DIP is recruiting!

Wicked Creek is a very special place to be. The drama that goes down there is, well, pretty epic. The center of most of it is currently TEST and Almost Awesome (N0Fux). TEST has launched a propaganda war via Reddit, which is revitalizing their alliance and providing content to their members. N0Fux, lead by Roweena, is doing whatever it is he does.

So allow me a little back story.

RANE hold large quantities of SOV in Wicked Creek. They have no formidable presence there, but operate under the assumption they are indeed God’s chosen rules of this region. In order to maintain this chosen status on the map and not just in the confines of their collective minds, Gorgon Empire was paid vast sums of isk for this right.

Gorgon / RA / DRF all had a NIP with each other. As DIP and assorted other small coalitions were living in DRFRA space… we had to abide by their rules. You can’t be a guest of someone and not follow their guidelines. Once the NIP broke down between the Russian powers, we were given the greenlight to invade.

The US Powers nearby (Gentlemen’s Club) also have an extremely strong dislike of RANE. So Roweena (according to him with DRF’s blessing) worked with GClub to take away a PEST station system that dropped SOV. He also got furious at me when I posted it on my blog, because apparently it was a big secret known only to every alliance who lived out here and my blog somehow spoiled this epic surprise.

Gorgon promptly returned and slapped down N0Fux and took the station back once they woke up and had their morning vodka shots. At this point, Roweena went on a Skype tirade, reset PEST and claimed the end of their existence. Hellion Vlad, informed me that due to his contacts, TEST would deploy here and wipe N0Fux off the map. I should choose who I ally with carefully.

Still with me here… it gets even more complex…Fast forward a few days to when we get the greenlight to invade. We SBU 5H-, and plan on taking the station that night. I get home, and Roweena convos us stating if N0Fux isn’t allowed to take the station, GClub will come drop all of our caps and we would be unable to touch said station. We had more people on field, more caps, and had to sell Roweena the TCU’s as he was completely unprepared for this. At this moment in time, I was not aware to the full depths of the madness that lurked in Roweena’s mind. I chose not to argue and gave them the station.

Fast Forward a few more days. DIP enjoys the success of our first station, taking it from Phoebe in a fight (RANE was not present to defend their station) and much fun was had. Then came TEST moving in with the fanfare of thousands of Reddit masters. They blued up a good chunk of people in western Wicked Creek to so they could move in. Things get murkey, because I was asleep during this part. however…

During the SOV transfer from PEST/RANE to their new (current) overlords, TEST, Black Legion came in took the station from under TEST. N0Fux appeared, supposedly while blue to TEST and shot at TEST assets as well. Drama bomb cut short… TEST reclaimed station with PL help. Headshot TEST failed, they are moved into region and pretty angry.

So the US guys, who are greatly outnumbered by TEST decide to form up mutual fleets with each other to give us a chance at fighting back. Roweena brought in another small alliance (Corvos) to help. Rumors are they were paid as mercs, I have no idea if any isk exchanged hands for this. After some time passing with absolutely no cohesion or unification of this “coalition” DIP said screw it and started trying to organize and take charge of this. This culminated in our first attempt at a unified fleet (lost to TEST). We attempted to get N0Fux onboard with us the next day via Skype. I’ve heard from Roweena several times how they can get massive fleets, are incredibly skilled, and the best thing ever out here. They are basically the US Superpower in our region, everyone else is Shit, and blah blah blah. They had two guys in fleet, eventually got to five. We told Roweena to get registered on coalition comms… and then this happened.

Leaked Logs

This was not the first of these type of conversations I’ve had with Roweena. As an example, when I put my first blog post on Reddit, I received almost 2k views. I was pretty excited about this and the response I got from Roweena was:

[3/20/2015 1:15:42 PM] Roweena Azur – N0FUX:u start mentioning my alliance things happen bro
[3/20/2015 1:15:43 PM] Kasken: I wrote it this morning
[3/20/2015 1:15:46 PM] Roweena Azur – N0FUX: we have a very loud reputation

I’ve been told to stfu, how terrible I am at Eve, and all sorts of fun and exciting things. He wrote EN24 a letter stating that the story of us taking the station was wrong, and without N0Fux it wouldn’t have happened. He did all the “damage”. Mathematically speaking, I believe it came out to DIP did 9m+ damage in the fight they were there for (not the fight for the actual timer when we re-SBUed) and his guys did a little over one million damage. I get irritated at times, but I figure it’s just an unstable kid whose real life sucks. I now, actually feel that we as an Eve community, should get a fundraising campaign and get Roweena the professional help he needs.

If a person in the real world thought they were a superhero, people would question their sanity. Roweena believes himself the equivalent of a superhero in a video game… and we just mock him. Seriously, this boy needs help. He cannot llive his life in these delusions where he is indeed the center of a fictitious world. I do not want one day the Eve servers to be shut down, and some scraggly kid wandering the streets wasting away demanding people call him Fleet Commander while living in a fantasy world of spaceships… Someone get a kickstarter campaign going for this guy.

As far as Wicked Creek goes… it’s a giant disaster. Politics are still insane, rumors abound, threats are made, towers are killed, reffed, and being put up like it’s going out of style. Numbers matter, sadly, and DIP stands on the low end of the totem pole there. The bright side is we did push our KB green. Not bad within two months if you consider we started with the equivalent of a super loss, and several billion more in special people losses…

On a last note, I applied to write for EN24 In order to prove my writing I need to submit a sample story. I’m far too biased for a “journalistic” approach. I was thinking of writing an article about how the Phoebe changes have created a group of players who have the “I deserve it, give it to me now” mentality over the players of old. Thoughts?

So as anyone who as ever read Reddit or something else is aware, TEST is launching a full scale propaganda war against Almost Awesome. As mandated blues of Almost Awesome we take a pretty good amount of trashing as well since we are affiliated with “the evil non tolerant NoFux guys”.

A small, I can’t even call it a coalition yet but will anyway, was formed in the US TZ to give us at least a chance of fighting TEST head on numbers wise. I will henceforth refer to this as the FunDIP coalition… as DIP propaganda works for me. We had our first “joint” operation last night to see how it went, how many guys we could get in fleet, and to see if we could even get them all registered on comms.

Then we proceeded to head over to where TEST was repping two small POS and engage. We had 60+ guys in fleet, but a substantial chunk of them were not “doctrine” ships. We had several light tackle, random ships, and Vexor Navy Issues instead of Ishtars. Our logistics was also a bit short too. We held our own at first, and then the Nidhoggur (not sure if the other 3 carriers there we actively repping the fleet or not) from TEST was able to start repping people. Once that happened we were struggling to break the targets, and to make it worse our logi suddenly called out they were off grid… within 100k of the tower.

It was at this point, I saw the yellow boxes hitting and pretty much insta popped. I went back for an interceptor and listened to the rest of the fight. A handful of mistakes were made, which caused us to lose a bit more than we should have. I personally also am so bored with Ishtar fleets, definitely not the most fun fleets ever to fly or FC. Our FC was popped, secondary FC was going down, and I was already dead so the choice was made to leave since we weren’t breaking them anymore at this point anyway. +1 fight for TEST.

Battle Report (Numbers definitely aren’t overwhelmingly accurate here, they had more logi + Carriers that aren’t showing, and I’m not sure where other guys in our fleet were either…)

I had fun coming back with a Malediction though. Killed a Condor, and then had a Raptor willingly engage me on a gate. I was annoyingly out of EM rockets and had to use kinetic which made it take longer than it should have. I noticed blaster fit though, and just orbited him at 7500 which lead to him not quite finishing off my shield before he popped. He requested in local that I add it to my blog so here it is!

Raptor Kill

Overall for a first effort of the newly named FunDip coalition, it wasn’t terrible. There is always a period of adjustment when pilots from several groups come together. I was happy on our first attempt we got as many pilots as we did and managed to get a chunk of them at least into Ishtars / Scimitars. Hopefully we can whip this into somewhat of a fighting shape so we can actually fight TEST since as a general rule we are significantly outnumbered. We hold our own just fine doing the gank random people tactics and small skirmish brawls. SOV / Moons / real warfare though requires head to head fights which right now TEST most assuredly has the advantage with.

Wicked Creek is definitely changing. The sheer volume of pilots floating around is significantly higher than there used to be. It’s still a pretty crap region overall, but content wise it’s currently one of the best in Eve. This area is not my longterm goal, nor where I want to live forever, but currently it’s pretty awesome. We just need to get the useless entities out of here that provide nothing (RANE/PEST) and bring in some more small alliances willing to brawl like PFR and crew do…

Also on a final note… FunDip coalition is NOT lead by Roweena. It is more a join effort that DIP is currently working on trying to organize and get moving together. There is no mastermind overlord of the coalition, and it is not a grand scheme of Roweena’s either. It started originally to remove RANE/PEST from Wicked Creed, and now has shifted to fighting TEST a bit more. It was… encouraged by allies that DIP step in and try to smooth out communications / organization and we are doing so. However, half the people in this group aren’t blue to each other, and at times things liek politics / ego get in the way. So it’s a process, but getting there…
